ABSTRACT

Ground reaction curve concept is quite useful for designing the supports specially for tunnels through squeezing ground conditions. An easy to use empirical approach for obtaining the ground reaction curve is proposed in the paper. The approach has been developed using the correlations of estimating support pressures and closures in tunnels proposed by Goel et al. (1995) and Goel (1994) respectively.
